Items
Title
I’ve lost my keys, is this going to be a problem?
Description
No. Each of the collection partners we work with have the means to collect cars with missing keys – or keys that no longer work due to accident damage.
Title
Does it have to be me who’s with the car when it’s picked up?
Description
No. We do need someone to be with the car, but it doesn’t have to be the registered keeper or legal owner. Our collection partner will need to see a form of photo ID (usually a passport or driving licence) and; if you will not be providing the V5C log book document - a utility bill that’s dated within the last 3 months.
Title
What should I do with the V5C log book?
Description
Both you and the person collecting your car will need to complete section 9 of the official DVLA V5C logbook document. This confirms with the DVLA that you have sold the car. It’s your responsibility to make sure this is complete, but the collection partner who picks your car up will be happy to help.
Title
My car is off the road, how do I let the DVLA know?
Description
To declare your car as being kept off the road, you’ll need to make a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). To do so, contact the DVLA, either through their dedicated internet service or by post.
Title
Are the prices you quote guaranteed?
Description
Yes, they are. Our recovery partners will have to check your car to ensure it was described accurately when we issued a quote – but as long as it is, you’ll receive the exact price that was agreed.
Title
Can I change my mind, even if I’ve accepted the quote?
Description
Yes, we understand that people’s circumstances can change and you may no longer wish to scrap your car. If you do change your mind, we simply ask that you get in touch with us to let us know as soon as possible.
